The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts is a performing arts center located in Louisville. It is also known as one of the major performing arts centers in Kentucky. It is one of the three venues that Kentucky Performing Arts own. The Kentucky Center's artwork includes Jean Dubuffet, John Chamberlain, Joan Miro, and Alexander Calder. The venue has a seating capacity divided into three sections: Boyd Martin Theatre (139-seats), Moritz von Bomhard Theatre (619), and Robert S. Whitney Hall (2,406). The Kentucky Center opened on November 19, 1983. The architect of the building was designed by Charlton Heston, Lily Tomlin, and Diane Sawyer. The venue hosted one of the U.S. presidential election debates between Walter Mondale and Ronald Reagan. Paristown Hall in the Kentucky Center opened for the public in July 2019.
