Daniel Sloss (September 11, 1990) is a Scottish writer, comedian, and actor. He was born in Kingston upon Thames, England. His mother connected Sloss with comedian Frankie Boyle, who was performing at a conference she was attending, when he was sixteen years old. After approaching Boyle for an internship, Sloss was coached by him during his 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival run and went on to write jokes for him on BBC's Mock the Week. He attributes his early success to Boyle. In February, Sloss filmed his 2018 comedy special DARK at Los Angeles's Belasco Theater. On May 17, it was announced that DARK and its sequel, So?, would be released later in 2018 as part of a two-special deal with Netflix. The retitled So? was one of two shows on which Netflix debuted with Jigsaw on September 11, 2018. According to Sloss, Jigsaw allegedly triggered over 120,000 breakups, 300 divorces, and hundreds more engagements that were never fulfilled. After competing against Phil Wang in the 2018 season of Roast Battle, Sloss emerged victorious. The episode "Russell Brand: In Plain Sight" of Dispatches exposed accusations of sexual assault and rape against comic and presenter Russell Brand; Sloss was the sole comedian to make an appearance in the show.
